Hello World!

Besides being extremely excited about my film and bringing you on its journey, I would like to introduce myself. So, Hello hello! I'm Jesika you can call/think of me as Jes, Jessy Wessy, Roye-G-Biv or really any nickname you prefer to remember me as (but make it a good one because I'm going to want to know!). I'm 22 years old with a hunger to touch the world through film. I'm an actress and creative imaginative thinker with a ready to work attitude who happens to have no filter when it comes to honesty. Just look at my face you'll know what I'm thinking and if I'm lying by my immediate reactions to genuinely everything. I'm the type of person who is not afraid to get down and dirty for the cause, even if it means cleaning out my basement because my parents asked me too.

As an actress I've always been drawn to work that not only makes me feel the feelings I lack expressing in my real life situations, but the feelings imbedded within each and every one of you. The audience, the most important aspect of my career is to reach you. Those feelings and emotions you so dearly want to let out on your couch when no one is around as you glance at the kitchen searching for comfort in the pantry or fridge or like me with a few cups of tea and possibly my good old friends tequila and bourbon, and we cannot forget the matinee film showing that we all deep down love going alone too. So what's in it for me to tell you this? In order for my film to be complete I need to have you, the audience along for the ride with me. My influences and inspirations come from the world that surrounds me. I can only create what I feel serves the knot in someone else waiting to be fixed. To get you excited and pumped, as I already know you are, I want your feedback, thoughts and memories that come to mind when you read about my film process. I'll be creating the film and probably changing shots and storyline by what peoples reactions are. You want to tell me looking at the images I've provided made you think of ketchup, tell me because I'll probably add it into the scene that was inspired by that image. You honestly never know, and to me that's possibly the most exciting part.

One more thing before I spill over the juicy details is my family. I'm one of 5 kids and I speak to my siblings (and parents) in every type of family chat possible every day. No joke. The laugh I get from the bizarre corny sayings we are constantly throwing at each other is what I need in order to get by in my day. They are my inspirations, influences and confidants and not nothing I do won't not have them somewhere hidden inside of it. But don't ask me because I will probably tell you in some secret code so you can't figure it out anyways, the reason being I want you to think they are everywhere and no where with the annoyance of never actually being able to know.

So without further or do, the storyline with some extra details. The story revolves around a mother and her four daughters. Fun fact, as of a few days ago I have decided to play all 5 roles due to a class devoted to artist Cindy Sherman. Now back to the plot, all 5 characters will be revealing feministic views based on growing up with a strong willed feminist mother as we see their relationships with one another unfold and heighten. The Jewish religion and specifically the Modern Orthodox thread will also play a part in how the family grew up where religion's role is both prominent and evident as adolescents try to figure themselves out while maintaining relationships with their parents and siblings. Their stories will unfold side by side in a split frame for the entire film. The background will be continuos playing with speeds as the daughters and their mother set and clear the dining room table. The stories, memories, and "diary entries" are most likely to cross over and intertwine with one another building on the idea of a continuous cycle passed down through mothers, daughters and sisters growing up struggling to define themselves to become independent young women of the future. Drawing specifically from their household, private school, sleep away camp, dance, sports, and eventually dreams/hopes/aspirations/goals in life which will be present from the beginning of the film as background of where each character is coming from. There will be ups and downs of the mother/daughter relationships while both strive for their individual feminism which could be ripping them apart or bringing them together, while trying to maintain this bond to one another.

I hope you're ready to jump on board and stay tuned because I sure am!

Thanks and Cheers.
Jes
